New Strathpine Campus Open for Term 3, 2024!

New Strathpine Campus Open for Term 3, 2024!

The BUSY School is excited to announce the opening of our ninth school campus in Strathpine, conveniently located near Strathpine train station. Opening in time for Term 3 2024, we’ve reached another milestone in our mission to support and empower disengaged senior high school students. Supporting Year 11 and 12 students to complete their QCE and explore vocational career paths, our Strathpine campus further supports our mission to re-engage young people with education and their futures.

Leading the Strathpine BUSY School is Campus Principal Kylee Chandler, a dedicated advocate for education, student wellbeing and providing students with ‘a life of choice’. An experienced leader in secondary schools, Kylee has most recently worked with the Education Futures Institute and has held various leadership roles in secondary schools in the Moreton Region. A local to the area, Kylee brings her valuable leadership expertise to the campus plus a wealth of local knowledge and connections.

“Having worked in Secondary education in the Moreton region for almost 20 years, I have seen the need for a supportive school environment for our senior students grow exponentially. I am proud and excited to lead The BUSY School Strathpine to provide a much-needed educational facility for Moreton students where they can re-engage with learning and look forward to a life of choice,” Kylee said.

There has been a high demand and numerous requests to open a BUSY School in the Strathpine region.

CEO of The BUSY School, Lee Aitken said, “The BUSY School has been consulting with the Strathpine community for some time now to understand local youth issues and how we can help young people who’ve disengaged from education.

“This has included local community groups, the school sector and local and state government representatives who were seeking more alternatives to support youth,

“The BUSY School will offer disengaged youth in the Strathpine and greater Moreton region an opportunity to re-establish their confidence, self-worth and motivation to achieve educational and employment outcomes through a flexible education program that combines academic studies, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and professional and personal development.”

The Strathpine campus is set to welcome year 11 students in term 3 this year and is currently taking enrolments.
