Pranesh is committed to forging a new path!

In a world where most teenagers are grappling with the complexities of adolescence, Pranesh stands out with an extraordinary determination to alter his life path. At just 16 years old, Pranesh has already experienced more challenges and witnessed more devastation than most adults could imagine.

Raised in the harsh reality of severe domestic violence and instability, his childhood has been marked by uncertainty. Through sheer grit and the support of his mates and surrounding community, Pranesh is committed to forging a new path for himself at The BUSY School.

“I grew up in Logan, moving around due to family circumstances, Pranesh reflects.

“When I was five years old, my mother, siblings, and I fled a domestic violence situation. It was a chaotic time, but we had to get out.”

Despite the upheaval, Pranesh remained steadfast in his pursuit of education.

“I attended school regularly, not because I loved studying, but because I wanted to hang out with my mates,” he shared.

Although attending school regularly Pranesh found himself rebelling against the rules in a cycle of instability, culminating in his expulsion from mainstream education.

But Pranesh’s story doesn’t end there.

Determined to carve out a better future for himself, he found support at The BUSY School.

He admits, “When I arrived, I didn’t even speak to the Principal. I was skeptical, but something clicked here. It’s been mad, but in a good way. The support, the environment—it’s all different.”

The BUSY School provided Pranesh with more than just academic opportunities; it offered him a sense of belonging and purpose.

Pranesh beams, “They have a printout of me on the wall as the most improved! I’ve never passed English before, but here I did. It’s a big deal for me.”

Despite his past, Pranesh remains focused on his goals. “My aim right now is to get my driver’s license and I’m exploring trades like commercial plastering or electrician. I’ve even got some experience in plastering and bricklaying.”

Pranesh’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of education and support.

“If I hadn’t found The BUSY School, I’d probably still be at home, relying on Centrelink. But now I’m determined to make something of myself.”

As he looks to the future, Pranesh is not just focused on his own success; he’s advocating for change in the broader community.

Pranesh asserts, “Businesses need to give guys like me a chance. We need more opportunities for jobs and apprenticeships. It’s about giving everyone a fair go.”

In a world that often overlooks the potential of disadvantaged youth, Pranesh’s story serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength that lie within everyone. With unwavering determination and the support of institutions like The BUSY School, he is turning his life around, one step at a time.
