The Hoops4Schools 20-Day Challenge kicks off on Friday, 15 August 2025, running through to Thursday, 4 September—culminating in the Corporate Challenge finale on Friday, 5 September at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre on the Gold Coast. The annual campaign brings awareness to youth disengagement from education (with 1 in 5 young Australians disengaged) and raises funds for much-needed alternative education facilities, like The BUSY School.
For 20 days, offices, warehouses, classrooms, and lounge rooms will become makeshift arenas as teams take aim in the name of reconnecting young Australians with education. The concept is simple but powerful: every hoop you sink represents a young person looking for their place in learning. Whether it’s a pop-up hoop in the kitchen, a recycling bin in the corner, or a virtual free-throw on your phone—every shot counts.
It all leads to the Hoops4Schools Corporate Challenge, where squads of eight will gather for a high-energy day of friendly competition, team spirit, and serious bragging rights. Companies can set in-office targets, boost morale with daily hoop breaks, and then take their shot at the trophy—all while backing a cause that matters.
Beneath the fun lies an urgent challenge. One in five Australian teens are disengaging from school. The causes are complex, but the consequences are lifelong—affecting employment, health, and opportunity. Young people from low socio-economic backgrounds are most at risk, often facing barriers that have more to do with circumstance than capability.
Hoops4Schools flips the script. Every dollar raised supports The BUSY School’s alternative education model—giving disengaged teens access to hands-on learning, mentoring, and career pathways that lead to real futures.
